Hi bowcasters, I was wondering if anyone had proposed a moral for the story that Brian told a few weeks ago about the future-brother-in-law/doctor who was able to snipe the target with Brian’s bow from an extremely long distance for a beginner? I think there are multiple aspects to look at in the story. First off, there is a lesson in humility. Oe should not let someone else try something if one does not want that someone to succeed if the doctor handn’t been handed Brian’s bow, there would have been no shaming I use the line ” my bow is really hard to pull so use this bow” then I pass the person my backup bow that is set at 50 lbs and then I have the ”different equipment” excuse.
The main moral of the story, I believe, is that properly tuned equipment works (almost) every time. As long as your equipment is properly tuned, technically anyone with a knack for archery and of similar build should be able to get the same results as you with your gear.
So basically, Brian, what you were saying in your story is that your gear is so well tuned that even a semi-drunken beginner doctor can perform well with it.
Love the story thoug and I have used it to start a bunch of gear vs skill discussion with hunters, archers and climbers.
