I am looking for hunters that listen to the show to contribute by giving updates of what is going on in their regions. I basically have the idea of breaking up the country into several regions and have hunters give an update of what is going on in their neck of the woods. For example, I would let you know that right now snow is falling in Utah and the mulies are getting ready to rut anytime now etc etc. These would be about a 30 second to one minute summary of what big game activity is doing and what hunts are opening where. These reports would also include what tactics are producing successful hunts. We will record and post them on the show about once a month. This segment will be a complete and well informed update of hunting conditions all over the country. I feel like this would be educational a s well as informative. Please send me a message if you are interested in helping out. Bowcasters have a wealth of hunting knowledge and are intimately familiar with their hunting grounds. Good things. Brian
Brian, I have listened to every episode from the beginning (gets me through my training runs and I would be happy to represent Washington. I will send you a message.
Id be down to let people know whats goin on here in New Mexico. besides the heat and lack of rain!
i can let you know what’s going on in new Hampshire. sounds like fun to me sigh me up. just let me know what i have to do.
Hey Bowcasters, here’s an update….. We have the Great Lakes area, New Mexico, and Florida covered. Still need more areas, so please contact Brian if you’re interested.
Here is how I have the country broken down. Pacific Northwest: Oregon, Washington, North California Southwest: Arizona, New Mexico, Southern California, Southern Utah and Mexico Rocky Mts: Montana, Idaho, Utah, Colorado Plains States (Midwest): Nebraska, Mizzou, Kansas, Dakotas Great Lakes: Wisc, Michigan, Illinois, Indy, etc Texas Southern States: Louisiana, Miss, Bama, Kentucky, Tenn Southeast: Fla, Georgia, Carolinas North East: NY, NJ, NH, RI, Del, etc Alaska
I have representation in all regions but Texas and Alaska.
I am aware that I have left some states off and this is because geography is difficult.
Dang….I guess Hawaii doesn’t make the cut!!!!
If I were the Hawaii correspodent, I’d tell you that The State of Hawaii, Department of Land and Natural Resources is accepting application forms for the 2012 Lanai Axis deer hunting season, until Dec. 2. The 8 day archery season runs Feb 18~25. Oh yeah….there is no limit to the number of archers allowed to participate and all application and tag fees for the 2012 Lanai Axis deer season have been waived.
Yep, you too can take your family on a vacation to Hawaii, and put in for a bow hunt with 100% odds of drawing, and a cost of only $95 for an out-of-state licence.
But Hawaii isn’t on Brian”s list, so I can’t tell you about that.
Ha ha! Hawaii just made the list. For real.
Au Ryte!!!
You combined Washington with Northern California? That is funny! I don’t mind losing out to South Cox (Great Choice!) but I didn’t know he hunted much in the Cascades.
Like I said you are going to have to excuse my geographical ignorance. The way I see this happening is having every state of the union represented throughout the year. You didn’t lose out to South, I just decided to bat him lead off. Hopefully you can still give us a report for Washington in the near future.
Let me know if you need updates from the Virginia – Maryland areas!
Calling in from Alaska, live in Eagle River. Right now most of our seasons are closed except for a few permits. There are a few winter time opportunities but they are far and few. The application period for next year closed 12-31-2011 so most of us are in a hurry up and wait mode until they announce permit winners for 2012-2013 season.
