Just wondering if anyone has heard if any of the other broadhead makers out there will be producing Deep Six compatible this year? And also looking for thoughts on the new Edge by NAP with the 2″ cut, too big or perfect?

I have yet to hear anything but i would assume companies would produce them eventually. From what i understand, its a matter of just changing the threads. Personally I dont see why they made an arrow that only allows a select few heads. I would think they would sell more arrows if they could shoot numerous broadheads and tips. The 2″ cut seems huge, thats a lot of blade out there. Im curious to start hearing how they fly at farther distances. If it does do well, a 2” blade would be awesome…..I am interested in these arrows but i just havent convinced myself to be a fan of any of the broadheads that fit yet.

Muzzy is making Deep 6 heads and G5 will be producing them soon. I have been told by Trophy Ridge that they will be making them as well. I also believe that Epek will have a compatible head soon.

I was told by G5 that they don’t have any plans for the immediate future. Bummer, as I only shoot Montecs

Well thats not the news I wanted to hear because the deep six line up of NAP broadheads are not very impressive in my opinion. The Killzone looks good but I don’t think a 2 inch cut is the answer if you ever contact bone. The ulmer edge from trophy taker looks nice maybe they will step up to the plate? I also shoot the montecs, do you have troubles with sharpness ? And if not what is your solution? I started shooting them this year and love how they fly but have a hard time putting an edge on them that I think it good enough to shoot an animal with, maybe the CS version is the way to go? any thoughts?

I liked the Ulmer head, as I looked at it at ATA and talked to the engineers about it. If I were to shoot a mechanical the Ullmer BH would be first , followed by the G5 Havoc.

I don’t shoot mechanicals, do to an issue I had a few years ago, plus the western states that I hunt don’t permit them.

I have a few CS and SS and don’t really see that much a difference after I have shot the BH into something and I resharpen the BH. I don’t have problems with sharpness, after a shot through a deer or turkey I clean it up, sharpen it on a diamond stone, wipe with olive oil and back in the quiver it goes. I have used the same 3 BH on 20+ deer last season alone, not including the year before. I lost one BH as I shot a turkey, the pass through squared on a rock. It’s now a stump shooting BH!

Sweet maybe I’ll try the diamond out thanks for the input. I love the one piece design its a tough one to beat.
