I am wanting to buy a new bow but dont know what direction to go in. I have a short draw lenght so i was wondering if a mr7 would be better than a z7 or a helim to shoot long distances. Or is speed that important. If there is anybody outthere that has any sugestions I would like to hear them thanks
Here is my 2 cents…… If you are stuck on a Mathews, I would shoot them all. In theory, the longer axle to axle, the more stable it tends to be. However, I do not recommend only shooting Mathews. Shoot whatever bow you can get your hands on. After shooting lots of bows at ATA and even more at my local shops, I have found so many bows out there that I wouldn’t hesitate hunting and shooting. My top 3 picks for this years were the Elite Answer, Hoyt Carbon Element RKT, and the Bear Anarchy. I also really liked the Vectrix Turbo from Hoyt. I was not impressed with any of the Mathews I have shot this year. I notice no difference between their Z7 and HeliM in the way it shot and performed, just a little lighter. But their MR8 wasn’t bad, I just don’t believe that it will ever be able to shoot the advertised IBO and I have been told by a local shop owner that they are very hard to keep tuned. Best thing to do is shoot every bow that you can and then decide!
